Portal Troubleshooting: Fixes For Common Problems

Empty tiles, an expired Google connection, missing rankings or a failed DNS check? Find what the portal means and how to fix it.

Quick Answer

Most empty or missing numbers are waiting on a Google connection or a first check. Find your problem below for the fix. If it doesn't help, message your team from the Help page or email support@savagesolutions.io.

Find the message you are seeing below. Each section says what it means and what to do. If you are still stuck, the last section tells you how to reach us.

My Dashboard Tiles Are Empty

Your Home page may say "Connect Search Console to show your website clicks and search results here. Read-only." Your keyword rankings, search impressions, and traffic data all come from Google. Connecting your account is what turns the dashboard from empty tiles into live data.

Fix: Choose Connect Google on Home, then connect your account in Settings. Data starts flowing within a day. See How To Connect Google Search Console.

My Google Connection Shows As Expired

Google tokens occasionally expire, especially after a password change.

Fix: Choose connect again in Settings to re-authorize. No data is lost.

Google Did Not Finish Connecting

During setup you may see "Google didn't finish connecting."

Fix: Try again, or skip for now and connect later from Settings. If someone else manages your Google account, message us and we will help get them connected. You can also message us and we'll connect it together on a quick call.

I Don't Know Which Google Account To Use

Fix: Use the Google account that has access to the Search Console property for the website on this portal. Not sure? Message us and we'll check.

Search Console Traffic Is Unavailable

You may see "Search Console traffic is unavailable right now. Try again shortly." or "Could not load your results."

Fix: Try again shortly. If your results do not load, refresh the page to try again. If it keeps happening, message your team.

Impact Tracking Is Not Showing Yet

On the Backlink Report you may see "Impact tracking will appear here as we measure changes over the coming weeks." On Proof of Impact, a page is empty until we ship a change to one of your pages, then it shows up with its before and after numbers from Google.

Fix: Nothing to fix. Check back as we measure changes. If Search Console isn't connected, Proof of Impact numbers come from the searches we track for you and cover fewer pages, so connect Google too.

There Is No Gap Analysis Yet

The Visibility Gaps tab on AI Visibility says "No Gap Analysis Available Yet."

Fix: Nothing to fix. The section will show differences between engines when gap analysis is available. An empty list does not mean every answer included your business.

My Trend Line Or Chart Is Missing

  • AI Visibility says "The trend will appear after two recorded reports."
  • A keyword says "Tracking started. Trend line appears after a second snapshot."
  • Competitor charts say "Appears after two weekly rank snapshots."
  • New keywords need roughly a week of tracking before a trend shows.

Fix: Wait for the next checks. Trends need more than one data point.

My Rankings Are Missing

You may see "Your First Rankings Are On The Way." or "No keywords are being tracked yet."

Fix: We check where you show up on Google every Monday, and your positions appear after the first check. If no keywords are being tracked, your account manager sets these up for you, or you can add searches under Search & Competitors in Settings. See How To Update Your Business Info And Competitors.

Inquiries And Sales Show A Dash

Inquiries & Sales may say "Verification needed" with dashes. Saved inquiry reporting is awaiting verification, and totals will appear after a verified submission stream is recorded. Unavailable totals appear as a dash.

Fix: Connect your strategy-call calendar to show consultations, and connect your payment records to show paying clients. See How Your Results Are Measured.

My Monthly Report Says Preparing

A month on the Reports page may say "Preparing report," and a new account may say "Your First Report Is On Its Way."

Fix: Nothing to fix. Reports are generated at the start of each month covering the previous month's data, and you'll get an email as soon as yours is ready.

My Work Page Looks Empty

You may see "No updates were recorded in the last 30 days" or "No recorded activity this month yet."

Fix: Use the Activity period menu or open Work to browse earlier months. Your team's work will show up once the first backlink, audit, or content piece lands.

Site Health Says Monitoring Is Not Initialized

The page says "SEO Monitoring Not Initialized" and "No audit data yet."

Fix: Choose the button on the page to kick off your first scan. Rankings, technical issues, Core Web Vitals, and content health will all be collected. If you see "SEO health monitoring and auto-fixing is available with an active subscription," message your team.

DNS Verification Is Failing

Google needs to confirm you own your website, and one method is to add a TXT record to your domain's DNS settings.

Fix: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. If it's been longer than that, message us through the portal and we can help troubleshoot. If your domain is on Cloudflare, we can help with this. You can also verify by adding a meta tag to your website's homepage, which works if you can edit your site's code. See the Analytics Setup Guide on your portal's Help page.

I Can't Find My Measurement ID

You may be looking at Property Settings instead of Data Streams.

Fix: Go to Data Streams and click your web stream. The Measurement ID is at the top right. It starts with G-. The Property ID is a number used internally by Google, and we need the Measurement ID. If you only have the older Universal Analytics, you'll need to create a new GA4 property, because Universal Analytics stopped collecting data in July 2024.

An Invoice Looks Wrong Or Is Overdue

Fix: If an invoice looks wrong, don't pay it yet. Message the team from the Billing page link or the support chat and we'll review it with you. If an invoice is overdue, we'll show a reminder banner in the portal and reach out by email before any service is affected. If you're having trouble with a payment, message us. See How To Pay An Invoice And Download Receipts.

Billing Would Not Open

You may see "We couldn't open billing right now. Please try again or message us."

Fix: Try again, or message us.

My Message Did Not Send

You may see "We couldn't send that. Check your connection and try again."

Fix: Check your connection and send it again. You can also email support@savagesolutions.io.

A Page Shows An Error

You may see "Something went wrong. Please try again." or "An error occurred. Please try again or contact your account manager." On AI Visibility you may see "We Couldn't Load Your AI Visibility."

Fix: Try again. If it keeps happening, tell us the page you were on and what you expected to see.

How To Reach The Team

Three ways to reach us, fastest first:

  1. Ask the assistant, which reads your live account data and answers instantly.
  2. Message your team: choose Help in the sidebar, write under Message Your Team and choose Send Message. We reply by email, and Your Requests shows each request with its status.
  3. Email support@savagesolutions.io.

Tickets and emails are handled during business hours, usually the same day and always within one business day. Tell us the page you were on and what you expected to see. A screenshot helps. If it's urgent (billing, site down), say so in the subject and we'll prioritize it.
