CodeWrench Free AI IDE

Alpha Release

Download CodeWrench

CodeWrench is one free workspace for the AI coding agents you already use. You run Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and others side by side, give them separate tasks, and review their work before it ships.

CodeWrench has no software subscription fee. Your connected AI services keep their own pricing.

Mac

macOS on Apple silicon (M1 or newer)

Download Alpha for Mac

A zip file, about 150 MB

How to Install

  1. Open the downloaded zip. macOS unpacks CodeWrench next to it.
  2. Drag CodeWrench into your Applications folder and open it.
  3. macOS will say it could not verify the app. Open System Settings, choose Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about CodeWrench and select Open Anyway.

The Mac build is signed by its developer, Ryan Mayiras, and has not yet been through Apple's notarization check. That is why macOS asks you to confirm the first launch.

Windows

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit

Download Alpha for Windows

An installer, about 140 MB

How to Install

  1. Run the downloaded installer.
  2. Windows will show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen. Select More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Finish the installer and open CodeWrench from the Start menu.

The Windows build is new and is not yet code-signed, which is why Windows shows that screen. Expect rougher edges than on the Mac, and please tell us what you run into.

What You Can Do with CodeWrench

Every Coding Agent in One Window

You stop switching between apps. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok, OpenCode and other supported agents run in one workspace, and you choose the account and model for each task.

Several Tasks Moving at Once

You can hand out independent tasks and let them run side by side. Each one works in its own branch and Git worktree, so the agents do not overwrite each other. A workspace holds up to twelve terminal panes, and a team launcher starts up to six agents with roles and assignments.

Review Before Anything Ships

You see what changed before it is merged. Inspect diffs, commit, and create or review pull requests from the same window. A browser sits beside the conversation, so you can check the page, take a screenshot and send visual feedback.

Speak a Task Instead of Typing It

You can dictate into the message box and read the draft before you send it, which is quicker than typing a long brief.

Work That Continues While You Are Away

You can give an agent a standing goal or a recurring task, then read the result when you return. The computer running the work has to stay on.

Your Workspace From Another Device

You can open a running CodeWrench workspace from another browser or computer. The projects and agents stay on the host machine, which has to remain available.
