SEO Glossary: Every Term In Your Portal

Plain-English definitions of the rankings, links, AI visibility and site health terms you will see in your Savage Digital Solutions portal.

Quick Answer

This glossary defines the terms you will see in your portal, from Domain Authority and dofollow links to Mention Rate, money keywords and cannibalization, using the same wording the portal itself uses.

  • Plain Englishdefinitions
On This Page

Your portal uses a handful of SEO terms. Each one below is defined in the portal's own words, so what you read here matches what you see on screen.

Money Keywords (Priority Keywords)

The searches that bring you the most business. These are the highest-value searches we focus on driving you up for. Your strategist marks them so you can track the terms that matter most at a glance.

Tracked Search Clicks

Clicks to your website from Google for the searches we track, in the last 28 days. The number comes from Google Search Console.

Position

Where your business shows up in Google for a search. Lower numbers are better, and #1 is the top result.

Google Search Console (GSC)

Shows how your website appears in Google Search results: which search terms people use to find you, your rankings, and any technical issues Google finds on your site. Connecting it turns your dashboard from empty tiles into live data. Access is read-only.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Tracks how visitors use your website: which pages they visit, how long they stay, and where they come from.

Measurement ID

The GA4 ID (it starts with G-) that is used to install the tracking code on your website. It is different from the Property ID, a number used internally by Google. We need the Measurement ID.

Backlink

A link from another site to yours. Total Live Links counts all confirmed backlinks currently live and pointing to your site, and Links This Month counts the new backlinks acquired for your site this calendar month.

Domain Authority (DA)

Measures a website's ranking strength on a scale of 0-100. Higher DA means a more authoritative link.

Dofollow

Dofollow links pass SEO authority to your site. A higher Dofollow % means more links are directly boosting your rankings.

Referring Domains

The domains that link to a site. The Competitors page compares referring domains, and Backlink Explorer shows a domain's top referring domains alongside its backlink totals and strongest links.

Backlink Gap

Domains that link to your competitors but not to you. They are your best outreach targets.

Citations

Part of how we build your presence across the web. You share your profile URLs so we can monitor your presence and build citations. In your Backlink Report they can appear as a link source, such as Directory Citations.

Disavow

Google's disavow tool lets you submit spammy backlinks. Google has no disavow API, so submission is always a manual review-and-upload step. Most sites should not disavow at all, because it is for manual actions or negative-SEO attacks. Review each domain before acting. The toxicity score is a heuristic that can over-flag legitimate links.

AI Visibility And Content

AI Visibility Score

A snapshot, out of 100, of how visible your business is in the AI answers we test.

Mention Rate

The share of tested AI answers that mentioned you. Answers Mentioning You and Prompts Tested are the counts behind it.

Visibility Gaps

Prompts where your presence differs between AI engines. An empty list does not mean every answer included your business.

Cannibalization

Keywords where multiple pages compete against each other in search results. When none is detected, each of your pages is ranking for its own keywords without competing against the others.

Schema (Structured Data)

Structured data markup on your pages. We auto-detect page types and generate appropriate JSON-LD schema markup.

Site Health And Results

SEO Score

A letter grade and score summarizing your site's technical SEO: broken pages, slow load times, missing metadata, and similar issues.

Fixes Applied And Pending Review

Fixes Applied counts automated improvements. Pending Review counts suggested improvements that are awaiting your approval.

Core Web Vitals

Page speed measures, including LCP, CLS and INP. We use the Google PageSpeed API to audit them for your key pages, with auto-fix recommendations.

Proof Of Impact

Measured before and after results of SEO work we shipped for you, taken from Google Search Console. Nothing is estimated.

Moved Up And Held Steady

Moved up means a page gained at least one position, or beat your site's click growth by 15% or more, with nothing moving the other way. Smaller moves are held steady.
